FWIW, we installed this patch first on our development box to workout any kinks. The only "gotcha" we encountered was due to the HPPATH variable redirect for our 3rd party software (NBSpool, JMS/3000, etc.). Prior to running Patch/iX, we had to type:

     :SETVAR HPPATH "!HPGROUP,PUB,PUB.SYS"

including the " " marks (I was told by HPRC that this is the default). Patch/iX blows up without this statement if the variable is redirected for similar 3rd party software. Installing on our test/ development box took 6-8 hours including several calls to HPRC.

Installation on our three production boxes took 2 hours for Phase 1 (NON- exclusive access) and 1.5 hours for Phase 2 (exclusive access) and went smoothly. We did Phase 2 simultaneously on all the boxes. Not a single hitch. Total downtime to the users: 1.5 hrs.

I've installed it at more than a dozen customers without a single
significant problem.
