Checking locks on a mpe file can be done with either command listfile ,8 or
listfile,9 ..listfile with option 8 and 9 provide
:listf sl.pub.sys,8
********************
FILE: SL.PUB.SYS
3 Accessors(O:3,P:3,L:0,W:2,R:3),Share
system MANAGER.SYS P:1,L:0,W:1,R:1 LDEV:
system MANAGER.SYS P:1,L:0,W:0,R:1 LDEV:
system MANAGER.SYS P:1,L:0,W:1,R:1 LDEV:
:listfile sl.pub.sys,9
********************
FILE: SL.PUB.SYS
3 Accessors(O:3,P:3,L:0,W:2,R:3),Share
system MANAGER.SYS P:1,L:0,W:1,R:1 LDEV:
#P2 (LOAD.PUB.SYS)
ACCESS: R,W,X,L-excl REC#: 2 FNUM: 9
LOCKS: none
system MANAGER.SYS P:1,L:0,W:0,R:1 LDEV:
#P1 (PROGEN.PUB.SYS)
ACCESS: R-excl REC#: 0 FNUM: 77
LOCKS: none
system MANAGER.SYS P:1,L:0,W:1,R:1 LDEV:
#P1 (PROGEN.PUB.SYS)
ACCESS: R,W,X,L-excl REC#: 7509 FNUM: 9
LOCKS: none
The difference is 9 shows who may have the lock.
listfile sl.pub.sys,-3 shows flags
FLAGS : 3 ACCESSORS,SHARED,3 R,2 W
the listfile -3 will show if the store bit is on the file which can be
helpful. List 8 and 9 do not show the store bit.
For image databases if locked.
There is a utility called UNDEDLOK.prvxl.telesup. This utility can help a
system admin determine if there are locks on databases (deadlocks). Tool
that allows an engineer to break a TurboIMAGE deadlock without having to
reboot the system. UNDEDLOK/iX breaks a TurboIMAGE deadlock by taking the
lock(s) away from a specified PIN and calling DBUNLOCK.
