A trivia contest!  Name a currently viable HW/SW platform for which there is
NO COBOL compiler.  (Hint: start with Acucorp and figure what they do NOT
support).  I am suspicious that COBOL is runable on more platforms than any
other language specifically including Java.  Preventing the use of
vendor-specific COBOL syntax can let someone run COBOL code just about
anywhere.
