John,

Transact/iX has a module in XL.PUB.SYS. I would expect
that trying to run code compiled on MPE 5.0 on a 4.0 system
is going to have a problem using the "old" module in
XL.PUB.SYS. Believe moving programs compiled on 5.0
back to 4.0 is not officially supported.

Note that Transact is pretty OS version independent, and
it *might* be possible to put the latest 5.0 Transact module
in a 4.0 XL.PUB.SYS; can't recall OTTOMH how far back
you can go. But PICS should be able to check for you.....

BTW, if the initial answer you get from PICS is "it's not
supported", make sure you get PICS to check with the lab.
It may not be officially supported, but it's worth checking
with the people who really know...........
