Yes. Here at Notre Dame we are gearing up for using the Web off our HP3000.
I have installed NCSA 1.3 on our test machine and it runs fine.

However, we proxy in from our Sun sparc campus Web server to our HP3000 web
server; setting up a secure layer. Our hp3000 is not accessible off the
internet.

Another thing the proxy service does is that we modified the NCSA
authentication code on our public server to use our Andrew File System - AFS
login service directly from our AFS authentication server. AFS is a campus
wide file system supported mostly from Unix clients using Kerberos ticket
schemes.

The big win here is that our public WWW server carries the load of
authentication (over 15,000 ids for every student, staff, etc.) into our
corporate data secure Web link. Sweet as pie. Everyone uses the same
authentication scheme for Telnet, Email, our corporate gopher delivery
system and now WWW corporate data delivery.

Wrong. Get your copy of HP WWW server from URL:

The Web: the true meaning of what "open" systems are all about.

As for the "other solution", Chris Frank - HP Germany has a HTTP NetIPC
server available on OPUS.ADMIN.UT.EDU ftp site that will run on MPE V
systems. I use it to test Web forms stored on my MPE 4.0 system - it can be
compiled either for NMPROG or PROG type. It has been around for about 1
year now.

Hey Chris, I haven't checked the FAQ recently, maybe update that section on
WWW tools.

Hope this helps.
