Next question on disks - has anybody had any bad experiences with generic drives rather than HP specific units? I am being quoted A$2k for genuine HP 36gb, down to A$400 for generics....I don't recall any reports of problems.

No need to go external.Remove the cd drive and replace it with one of

This will free up a slot for a larger internal disk.The other way to go
would be to simply replace one of the 9gb discs with a 72.
