Our HP8000 jams on double sided copies if the paper is put in upside down.

It also jammed very heavily on certain brands of paper, and works real
well with other brands. I suggest you try a few other brands of paper,
and experiment with feeding from the various trays, and change the
paper orientation (the print this side first) and see if things change.
What works for single sided me work less well for other sides.

I use an older 5si that jams continuously when a use 8.5*11 paper in the
bottom
tray, and works great from the upper tray. However, it prints legal great
from the bottom tray.

If I had time to tear the machine apart no doubt I would find a sticky
roller,
a small obstruction, or some other physical impairment causing the problem.

Subject: [HP3000-L] Need Reliable Duplex Printer

(I almost said "robust" instead of "reliable").
We have an office that prints about 30,000 pages per month, mostly duplex,
from our HP3000 to a JetDirect-connected HP 8000N. They print on
pre-punched 3-hole paper. The problem is that the printer jams all the
time. We have had the printer for about 18 months & have had various parts
replaced, and it still jams. Can anyone recommend a printer that has
worked well for them printing mostly duplex output?

By the way, the reason that they are doing duplex printing is to reduce the
space it takes to file the output (payroll records)...
