Actually, it is documented in FAQ.HELP.VESOFT -- it's just not obvious how
to find it.  I'm surprised this was not included in their online help
facility.

Although this looks like a bug at first, it is solvable with an as yet
undocumented VAR.  consider the following in MPEX

 CALC CDATE(![CDATEMDY(TODAY+500)],'YYYYMMDD')
 19000318

You would expect this to come out as 20000318.  Apparently the way you
solve this is by doing

SETVAR VESOFTYEARBASE,1950

Or whatever you want your pivot year to be.  This works like the
HPSPLITYEAR for the date intrinsics.  It's subtle, undocumented, and pretty
 hard to figure out that you are going to have trouble.
