I thought that the recovery disks were somehow set to only work on a
single computer. Like, when I got my refurbished Pavilion at home,
the computer didn't work straight out of the box. The service people
replaced my mother board and my recovery disks were suddenly invalid.
The service people had to do something to the computer so that my
recovery CD could be read...don't recall what they did.
