Charles,
Thanks for taking the time to reply, I had no hope that anyone would know
anything about such an old system. Our situation is this - we have data in the
database on the HP that we want to extract so that we can upload it to another
machine (Windows NT, SQL Server). The HP is a 'stand alone' system, it is not
networked, and does not have a modem. Our only option to remove the data is to
write it to tape, we do have a 9 track tape. Adding to our problem is that we
have no one here who is proficient on ethier the HP hardware or software. We do
have a query that will run and write the data to tape; however, the output fills
one tape and requires another. At that point the job aborts. We were hoping to
find some parameter to add to the job to allow for multiple tapes.
I appreciate your suggestion to STORE the data to a file; that sounds good, but
I'm still stuck with how to get it off the HP. We do run nightly backups on the
system, but don't have another HP to restore to. Any suggestions will be
appreciated.
Michelle
