Looking for a compression scheme that will allow a file to be compressed on
an HP3000 (running MPE/ix) and then un-compressed on a PC (running WinNT
Workstation 4.0).  Original file is 1.2 Gb, and FTP process to transfer the
file is very slow.  Wanting to compress this down to a size more manageable
and quicker to transfer thru FTP.  Looking for options both to compress and
un-compress the file.
