Yes, it is good for the economy to outsource our jobs through the
internet.
As others have already said:
1. The overseas workers pay no local, state or federal taxes.
2. The overseas workers purchase nothing here. No rent, no food,
no material items (cars, clothes etc.) and thus pay no taxes
here either.
3. Since I won't be working I won't be paying much taxes either,
but I sure will file for unemployment.
4. Yes, I can be retrained for another career. It will cost the tax payer
or myself money to do so. Then I can start at the bottom all over
again except that now I have children and am closer to retirement.
(Oh, I'm sure that what I put into Soc. Security will be there for
me when I retire!)
I have nothing against these people, but they are bypassing our
immigration laws which in part were designed to stop the U.S. from being
flooded with more labor than it can absorb. It would be better (from an
economic viewpoint) to entirely get rid of all immigration restrictions,
let absolutly everyone in who wanted to come, than to have the hit and run
foreign workers through the internet. At least this way, an immigrant
would be part of the economy rather than just sucking money out of it.
This is not an increase in efficiency for American companies, it is a
reduction of costs. Efficiencies increase our standard of living, we
produce more with less work expended (WHILE KEEPING OUR SALARY). This is
simply the reduction of business expenses. The American worker ends up
unemployed or working for a reduced salary. That new lower price on
product X still looks very expensive to me since I now earn much less
money. No improvement in my standard of living, just the CEO's.
My own 2 cents. Sure to inflame some and be agreed to by others.
