Mark,

the password validation that I added for the MPE/iX version
of Samba needs a user ID in the form USER.ACCOUNT and the
password(s) in the form USERPASS,ACCTPASS (like ftp client).

It worked for me with short passwords and even when one of
them was blank i.e. no user password for example. I do not
remember if I also tried both passwords blank i.e. "," only.
I fail to recall if I tried smbclient only or also PC...

Can you give me an example for trying? (with XXX passwords)
