Sure, HP's IRIS is already a classic in the OODB literature.
It has been available also as OpenODB and as Odapter front end,
but maybe the price has been set too high for larger audiance
this far.  In Computerworld June 10, p 50, there is a story
of Depot/J, a Java front end for Odapter, if I got it right.
May be someone from HP would like to comment.
