I have a bit of a problem. We run a large token-ring network which is
heavily subnetted (we have 39 class C addresses allocated for our use).
Some months ago, I ran into a problem with NMMGR when I added a 15th
subnet. Apparently there is a maximum of 14 Neighbor Gateways that can
be configured under MPE/iX 5.0. This is not a problem under MPE/V.

At that time, I reevaluated the way I had set up neighbor gateways and
was able to consolidate some entries. I'm afraid that only put off the
inevitable and I'm now faced with adding 3 more gateways with 14 already
configured.

Is there any creative way out of this situation? Can I point the HP at
a default router for all traffic? Our guess is that wouldn't work
because the HP appears to use static routes. Is there relief if I can
get to MPE/iX 5.5?

TIA for your assistance.
