In addition to blocking all sets at 2048 (that is 'generally' the best
blocking factor to use - you may want to change some sets to a
different value), you should also perform the following:
:RUN DBUTIL.PUB.SYS
SET basename BUFFSPECS=30(1/120)
SET otherbasename BUFFSPECS=30(1/120)
EXIT
The 30 is arbitrary. The thrust is to override the Image default of:
1(1/2), 2(3/4), ... etc.
This way, the first process to open the database incurs all the
overhead of opening buffers that all subsequent opens do not.
