We have an HP8100dn configured as a networked printer under MPE/ix 6.5. We
print many pages on this printer. It is attached to the network with a
JetDirect card. Jobs on the HP create spool files that are then output on
the 8100. The problem that we are experiencing is that the 8100
occasionally prints multiple copies of some pages. It could be 1 copy or
sometimes 3 and it is very occasionally. The only similarities between the
occasions is that they occur at or near the end of a spoolfile.

There is not an indication that anything has happened, except for multiple
copies. We have the printer and the HP configured so that if there is a
jam, then it prints the jammed page or pages again but the user knows about
these and always checks for extra pages when there is a jam. These other
occasions when it prints multiple copies of a few pages have no other events
that coincide with them. No jams, no errors flagged in the error report on
the printer.

I haved checked the network connection for errors and have found none. If
anyone has any experience or suggestions I would be grateful.

Karl
