I agree with Peter.
 
The 'most correct' choice is "RELEASE, SECURE, ALTSEC, BUILD, SAVE", but
unfortunately, only the first three of these commands check that the
file being operated on was created by the user executing the command.
 
For example, you can use the :BUILD command to purge a file created by
another user (you can also build a file with the :PURGE command by
the way).
 
The :SAVE command does not check the creator.  There are at least a
couple different ways I can think of to have a temporary file that
you did not create.  There is an HPFOPEN option that lets you turn a
permanent file into a temporary file, and the AIFCHANGELOGON AIF
routine (or the MPEX %CHLOGON command) let you switch to being a
different user while retaining your current TEMP files.
 
Of course if there is no *right* answer, then they don't have to
give away many T-shirts :-)

P.S. I'm not entirely sure that there is not some ACD that you could
give a file that would allow :SECURE/:RELEASE or :ALTSEC to work too.
