no, I won't subject you to the actual message [it was full of HTML anyway] but
I got a message in my inbox that I read just long enough to get a serious
laugh out of before hitting delete -- the "message" was advertising the
ability to advertise by e-mail. They make the unsupported claim that
"response rates can be as high as 5%" [what they don't point out is that
99.999% of those responses are "go take a long walk on a short pier" type
responses...]
But what REALLY tickled my funny bone was how you were supposed to reply: you
had to PRINT the e-mail, enter some details about yourself and your needs,
and FAX the message back to them
[it gets better: the "unsubscribe" instructions read (and I'm not making this
up) "To be removed please call our automated removal system at <a phone
number> Please note this is the only way to be removed. Removal request via
fax or telephone will NOT be honored."]
