I know of some good documentation that can help get you started in your
troubleshooting, but you need to check a couple things first before you'll
know if your Reflection to hp3000 connection is going to work.

Primarily, you need to be on a 900 series (937, 928, 980, etc.) running
MPE/iX 5.0. Look at the RELEASE number when you logon or do a SHOWME
(C.50.00 is 5.0). If you're not on that release or higher, you'll need to
call WRQ for additional software (I believe).

If that's all ok, you need to do at least a minimal setup inside NMMGR
(.PUB.SYS) of your network so the HP3000 can listen for anyone wanting to
connect. Best documentation I can suggest is in your HP3000 manual set.
There's a "Network Planning Guide" which is the first book to grab and
read. From there they've got the specific names of the different manuals
for each type of network interfaces along with some pretty decent
examples. You'll have to get at least minimally familiar with NMMGR,
which can be a little baffling at first (keep the manuals at hand). The
books will want to you to setup something called NS, so when you do, use
the "Guided Config" first. It's a much easier way to get started. When
you get done entering your information, you'll need to make sure you
"validate" the information, reboot, and make a couple good SLT's.

I suppose I could be tacky and give a plug alert and say we've got a class
on MPE/iX Networking that I and a few others teach here at HP that you
might want to consider. If there's anything more I can help with
regarding finding manuals or getting into the right class, I'd be glad to
help.

Good luck!
