This data set is only used to "browse" i.e. to look and find part numbers
that you don't know.
The program allows searching by category and it difficult to find a part
number when they are in order of when the part was entered. I would have
thought that this sort should/could be done by the program but it isn't and
the vendor will not fix(enhance) it.
It is much easier to find the part numbers when all the similar part numbers
are grouped together(sorted by part number).
The batch repack/fix path with adager took all of 43 seconds last night and
all is well.
Thanks all for dusting out the cobwebs on image sort fields.

Well I've seen some possible solutions to your problem ... but I'd
like to ask something nobody else has ... "why"? There may be more
than one way to skin this particular cat (apologies to any SPCA
members offended by this cliche) ... perhaps there are alternatives to
sorting the actual dataset that are less painful or more efficient.

So ... WHY do you want to have the entries come out of the DB in this
particular order?
