Tracy,

As I understand the process, if, when you acquired the 3000, a transfer
of the license to use was executed by the HP SLT team, then you've met
all of HP's obligations.

Also, if you have an LTU transfer document, the original sale papers
from HP/Client Systems, or proof of an HP Support Contract current
within the last 12 months on that box, the box can be sold and
transferred to another person/company and an LTU transfer initiated for
$400.

If not, then the box is pretty much good for parts unless you purchase
an RTU agreement through Client Systems to return the box to "licensed"
status.

In practicality, I doubt that HP has any problems with you running an
orphaned box. However, it would not be possible to legally get upgrades
or patches.

Just my two cents worth...

Jack Connor

So if I have an Official HP3000 hardware in my garage with an MPE
Operating System, but no piece of paper, I still have to turn it on when
Jack Bauer ain't lookin?
