Good Morning Tony from wet South Texas(finally some rain)

I think it is outstanding that it brought some amusement in my reference to
'momma cow'. Course, that is what they are...where as a 'heifer' is a young
female cow that has had no calf. We try not to have many of those as that
wouldn't be real good for a registered Santa Gertrudis production operation.
When we do have a proportion of the herd that is leaning towards more
heifer's than 'momma' cows...that is when we go to auction with the
"heifer's" and return with purchased 'momma' cows who have already dropped
one or more calves...........it is our ranching philosophy to let someone
else raise those heifers until maturity and then breed them for the first
time. We want mature seasoned 'momma' cows either ready for impregnation or
already with unborn calves.

Thanks and HAVE A REALLY GREAT DAY!!!!
