Thanks for the answers.

Regarding #2.

I have passed on the recommendation regarding LWZ to my
collegue.  The target HP3000 has no direct public network
access so safe passage of the MPE/iX program files through
an intermediate pc or unix box was a fundamental
requirement.

This was also a 'one-off' situation so that cheap (free) solution
was the desired one.  Ideally the files would have been e-
mailed to the recipent and moved from their desktop to the HP
somehow.  I don't know the target's setup so I can't comment
thereon.

The alternative was to simply cut a DAT and courrier it out to
the site.  As far as I know, this is the route that they took.
