Just in case anyone might have fallen for it ...

There's someone out there trying to scam eBay users into telling them their
eBay user ID, password, Social Security Number, credit card number, and more.

You receive an email like:

   Dear eBay User,

   During our regular udpate and verification of the accounts,
   we couldn't verify your current information. Either your
   information has changed or it is incomplete.
   As a result, your access to bid or buy on Ebay has been restricted.
   To start using your eBay account fully, please update and verify
   your information by clicking below :

      https://scgi.ebay.com/saw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?VerifyInformation

   Regards,
   eBay

   **Please Do Not Reply To This E-Mail As You Will Not Receive A Responce**

The link above  (...VerifyInformation) which appears to point to a
real ebay.com system is *NOT* the actual link embedded in the email.
The actual link is:

   http://scgi.ebay.com@%32%31%31%2E%34%34%2E%32%31%35%2E%32%33%37:%34%39%31/

which resolves to:

   http://211.44.215.237:491

...decidedly *NOT* ebay.com!

The page at 211.44.215.237:491 asks for the previously mentioned information.

Moral: always check the address at the top of your browser before
submitting sensitive information!
