Mr. Terterian,

I do not question your motives, your facts or your conclusions. I read your
email and I hear your frustration. You are right, Winston set himself up to
take the blame but because he *was being gracious* does not mean that we
should not be gracious.

In your third paragraph you point out that the problem started in 1992. We
all agree this predates Winston's tenure at the top. Therefore whole
"Winston fiddled while MPE burned" scenario is imprecise. The truth is that
Winston Prather does not need the likes of me to defend him. His defense was
not the only issue that concerned me.

I know you only through your participation on the list. In general I would
say that your questions are pertinent, your answers insightful, your
opinions thought out and your general tone well with in the bounds civility.
This unfortunately cannot be said of everyone contributing to this thread
and others like it. I am sorry to say this but many postings have not been
civil . I am not here to pass judgment on their being thought out.

While we are on the subject of lack of civility; let's talk about the CEO we
love to hate. She too deserves to be addressed with civility. If you
disagree fine but disagree with manners.

There is no excuse for bad manners. We are all frustrated, angry and hurt.
This is not a reason to forget the rules of conduct basic to society. This
does not preclude being passionate about the subject. The future of MPE
deserves no less.
The opinions expressed herein are my own and not necessarily those of my
employer.
Yosef Rosenblatt

If you read my email again, you will see that the only reason I am
pinpointing Winston, because in the article Winston did mention that it was
his and only his decision to discontinue HP3000....
