That is not fully correct:
MPE tar can *read* from files up to 4GB(-64kB) max_size.
It cannot open/read 'Large Files', i.e. files which have
limit * recsize > 4GB (even if the allocated & used disk
space of the large file is well below the 4GB mark).
The reason is that the bytestream emulator typemanager(s)
have not been enhanced to deal with Large Files.
Correct is that it will fail to create a >2GB disk file
as an archive, I do not think that writing the archive
to tape has the same limitation.
