Paul;

No idea what it is, but I get a busy signal when I dial that number
(1-800-474-6656).

Subject: [HP3000-L] HP Axent Defender

Fellow members,

Today I received from HP (Jambino, PA) a package containing a 'Defender'
unit. (A thin 2.4 x 3.25 inch device with a numeric pad, a small LCD
display and an 'on' and an 'ent' keys).

I assume that the device is some type of token generator to be used in
establishing a connection to some HP host, but it is something that I did
not explicitly order, and the contact phone number (in case I have any
issues) is 1-800-HP-HOOKME (notice that it is an 11 digit number).

After trying a variety of permutations to try and 'decipher' the
'hp-hookme' number, I gave up and decided to ask the list, in case someone
else has received this type of device from HP and, either knows what it is
or has had more luck in talking to them.

Regards
Paul Christidis
