My 'not so little' grey book (MPE/V) says that:
1 Sector = 128 Words = 256 Bytes
1 Megabyte = 4,096 Sectors = 524,288 Words = 1,048,576 Bytes
So you would assume that:
1 Gigabyte = 1,024 Megabytes = 4,194,304 Sectors = 536,870,912 Words =
1,073,741,824 Bytes
But knowing the way thing aren't logical in this world it's probably
something like:
1 Gigabyte = 1,000 Megabytes = 4,096,000 Sectors = 524,288,000 Words =
1,048,576,000 Bytes
I've sometimes wondered which was the correct one.
