Shawn,

You would need to use SYSGEN, not NMMGR, to assign a device class name
to a tape drive. We attempted to use IOCONFIG under 5.5 pp1 to do
this, but were rejected. The HPRC told us tape drives aren't supported
in IOCONFIG at this time. You should probably check with them to see
if pp2 includes this support - or just use SYSGEN to add the class name
and reboot the system.

I've made printer device class changes in NMMGR on 5.5 without having to
reboot, but I have to add a device class to a tape drive now, and not
being that great at NMMGR, I was going to make the change in SYSGEN, but
is there any way to make the configuration active without rebooting?
This 5.5 with PP 2.

thanks,
shawn
