Well Stan, there is now another comment posted ;-)
I see this as a BAD idea.
1) If we are having such terrible luck getting people to run for the Board, why do we think we'll have better luck getting people who are Interex "outsiders" to agree to an appointment?
2) I also find strange that three groups, working on three different questions, with no fore knowledge would come to the same conclusions as the Board on this subject.
3) This format leaves open the mechanism for a virtually self-sustaining Board. Too much opportunity for nepotism.
4) If we really need these areas of "external expertise", what is to stop the nominating committee from recruiting those same individuals to run for the Board?
In my opinion, this proposal takes effective control of the organization (via the Board) away from the members.
I strongly oppose this proposal.
