Along with a great many other third-party resellers, HP itself also
resells used ("remarketed") equipment at very reasonable prices. I
received in the mail just yesterday a flyer from HP [phone number: (800)
373-4357] listing an HP3000 917LX preconfigured system [24 MB, 670 MB
disc, 2 GB DDS, terminal console, MPE/iX (doesn't say what version),
ALLBASE and TurboIMAGE] for $7,000.
 
This price is generally comparable to those offered by other remarketers.
