Since MPE doesn't deal (internally) with less than a page, you've got
4096 bytes as the minimum atomic read/write. And 4096/187 = 21.9, so at
least start at blockfactor 21.
Remember the old disc optimizer that you gave recsize and it would
optimize blockfactor to minimize waste on a sector boundary? Well, just
update that old thinking to minimize waste on a page boundary (4096
bytes, 2048 classic words, or 16 sectors).
The file system will still play games on actual placement, but why fight
against the wind?
And if you specify extents it will try to use the old classic limited
number of extents. There's also the option of "unlimited" extents.
