This is true, but as I understand it (or not), companies today are
separating out WEB design/maintenance from app design/maintenance due in
large part to the complexity and sophistication of today's WEB pages.  I
read (in some trade journal) that it's becoming more and more difficult
for companies to find talent that can be well versed at both WEB page
and core apps functions.  Even if one was well versed at both functions,
the time required to handle both sides of the equation may require two
(or more) people.

Again, this is as I understand the state of IT today from stuff I've
read.
