I have installed a 3.5" 18.1 GB SCSI ULTRA3 10K HDD OEMed by
Seagate for ComPaq in the internal slot meant for a CD-ROM in my
918LX chassis. I am using a LVD 320 80F to 50M adapter and using
the spare connector on the ribbon cable to the DDS unit. The drive
powers up and all the cable connections are fine insofar as I am
able to determine. The HP3000 system boots without error or
complaint.

I am in ISL>ODE MAPPER and the new drive is not visible. What are
my options to get this thing working? The drive was verified as
working by connecting it to a scsi i/f on a PC and checking it.

As I am a digest subscriber the favour of a direct reply is much
appreciated.

Regards,
Jim
