I did powerpatch 5 using Patch/iX a few weeks ago. Seemed
to work well; instructions were pretty good; I had no problems.
Biggest advantage is being able to install a powerpatch plus
reactive patches on top of the powerpatch all in one cycle. It
also has some reporting capability on which individual patches
were selected and which were not selected. Nice.

If you follow instructions carefully and have Response Center
support as backup, I would expect even someone without too
much experience should be able to get through it O.K..... Note
in saying that I'm assuming:

(a) You have some prior experience on a 3000; <and>

(b) You are not installing a bunch of new / different peripherals
and / or complex add-on software subsystems that might need
additional manual installation steps.

If you need to do (b) above, it might be a good idea to open a
call with the Response Center and review the process before
you take the system down over the weekend.........

Good luck, whoever you are......... :-)
