Most people use HP's network services virtual terminal (NS/VT) protocol
rather than telnet to connect to an HP3000 over a network. NS/VT will work
over the internet provided that you use the Ethernet II option. To get
NS/VT for MPE 4.0 you must purchase the NS3000 product. If you upgrade to
MPE/ix 5.0 you get NS/VT free.

On the client end you need a program such as MiniSoft 92 or Reflection (if
you are running DOS or Windows) or IX/92 or IX/Connect if you are running
UNIX.
