Like the rest of the world we Americans, contrary to the opinion of certain
religions/countries, actually are human too. Mistakes will be made and
accidents will happen.

But, over all train safety here seems pretty good... or we have just been
exceptionally lucky due to the much larger area and limited use of trains
for public transportation in relation to Europe.
