It seems like MPEX should be able to periodically check the log file for
a particular entry, then decide what to do. Haven't tried it, but will
get to it someday.
BTW on our 918 the UPS power lasts more than an hour, maybe even two.
That's quite a bit.
To answer Bruce Toback's question, once you start a controlled shutdown
of jobs and processes, you don't stop. I've had this happen on a DEC
Ultrix system. Yes, it wastes total time, but at least you know the
shutdonw what safe.
