Eureka! After sending my cry for help, and with nothing else to
try, I started thumbing through the AIF Ref Manual. Lo and
behold, I came upon an AIF called AIFCONVADDR which "converts
compatability mode relative addresses to the corresponding native
mode virtual address"!
 
It seems to work on my simple example with AIFJSGET. I'll post to
the list whether it works for more complex tasks --- just in case
there are other C and PASCAL challenged folks who want to use
AIFs.
 
One more example of if all else fails, read the manual.
