Could you please define the distinction between 'developer' and =
'vendor'.
In particular, I see two classes of 'vendors' (tools vendors, and =
application
vendors) and am wondering if you classify both as 'vendor'. Or would you
consider an 'application vendor' that uses tools from one or more 'tools
vendors'
for developing c/s applications to be a 'developer' (even though they =
end up
vending their software).

For purposes of the roundtable, I'm considering a "vendor" anyone who =
markets the database, middleware or development tool, as well as any =
other component which goes into developing an application. A =
"Developer" is anyone who has successfully created and implemented into =
production, a true client-server application. This could also be a =
'vendor' - your're right, but for the roundtable, this is a 'developer'. =

Hope this clears things up.
