You folks really need to learn how to dicker and make sure that the vendor
totally understands what it is you are doing. While I despise COGNOS
product and pricing strategy, I got them to come down from 100,000 on an
upgrade to 60,000. In a perfect world it would be great if everyone gave
you the lowest price immediately, but salesmen make commissions, and you
have to work with them.
I've used Orbit for over 10 years and never had the problems described, but
I always made sure that I was clear on my objectives. Orbit has been a
great company to work with over the years, and their products are awesome.
