Thanks for the interesting replies.   Most of the projects/products
described in the replies were much more complex than what I had in mind...

Several years ago (I think it was '93) I started (and never finished)
programming a very basic MPE simulator, with the intent of using it as a
training tool for student operators.  That was the main intent.  The other
reason I wrote it was, well, I thought it would be cool to run "MPE" on my
286 PC :)

I found the code to my simulator last night, and wondered if anyone else had
done something similar (hopefully better, more complete, and more features).
FWIW, I have posted the C code of my simulator program to my website:
(http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Pit/3173/hello.html).   I haven't been
near an HP3000 since I wrote this program, so I don't know how "outdated" it
will appear.  It may be totally worthless, but maybe someone out there will
enjoy it and find a use for it!
