If you use the Patch/iX tool (which I highly recommend you do) you can apply
Power Patches and reactive patches (like NSTEDC9A) at the same time. Patch/iX
will decide if there are conflicts or dependencies that need to be resolved.
This really saves time!

We usually get our patches on tape. We are not fully Internet-connected at this
point. We order our patches from the Response Center, and when we do this they
always come with detailed instructions.
I can't recall if there is a Patch/iX manual, but the product itself pretty
much leads you by the nose. You tell it what tape drive(s) the patch(es)
is(are) in, and it pretty much leads the process from there.
