Paul, 6.5 is supported on 9x7 boxes, but 7.0 is not. I have it loaded on a
967. I have installed it at a customer site on a 9x7 box which only had 64Mb
memory and performance was very poor, to the point of being unusable.
Systems are not sold now without 128Mb or greater, so I would firstly look
at your memory.

The back of the 6.5 Communicator will have a list of supported system. If
you don't have a copy check out http://docs.hp.com
