Harlan,

Most 3. party backup utilities will make that job easy for you. I have worked
with Backup/3000 (BACKUP+/iX these days) from ORBiT for years - and find
this product most excellent in doing all kinds of backup: Safe, smart, fast,
well compressed - or whatever are your favourites.

Of course you have to make an investment and once I did a calulation,
considering how many resources we saved - and though I don't remember
the exact result today - it amazed me how fast the product in fact was 'paid
back'.

In my opinion it is equally important to check out how the vendor's support
works. Through the years I have enjoyed several fast callbacks from ORBiT
around the clock - and fast responding and well qualified support-personnel is
at least as important as compression-factors etc.

It would be interesting if you find the time to describe the solution you
actually did go for at the end of the day.

Good luck!

/With kind regards Hans-Ole
