Wait a minute, who's leading here, the boss or the grunts? Does the boss
really expect the grunts to think on their own and put up a site to do
e-commerce and all that, all on their own?

I agree with Wirt's assessment. Meetings love to end with the
warm-and-fuzzies. Around here we have a stack of y2k questionnaires (
about 2 feet high ) from customer's and vendor's because the bosses
can't decide how to answer. So nothing can get done because the grunts
don't make the decisions. Not that I'm saying that we should answer
these silly chain letters anyway.

I don't see this at all.  Rather, I would expect the boss to come back
with

"Well, why haven't I heard about this?  And if we already have these
abilities, why aren't we USING them?!"
