The Printronix line printers (replacememts for the LineJet series) have a
non-HP internal network adapter, and you can use it with 'smtp_enabled =
false' in your npconfig file.
On MPE 6.0, you can have other issues like pauses between spool files and
problems with forms length. (Next week I hope to know how it works with MPE
7.0 exp 1 & current patches).

Subject: [HP3000-L] OCE Photocopier as a Network Printer
<snip>
Is it possible to get access from an HP 3000 to a networked printer (non
HP) without a JetDirect box?
This oce photocopier uses standard UNIX LPD/LPR protocol, whatever that is,
and does PCL5 emulation.
