<After Eric after Gehan>

Hi Eric,
    It only seems like yesterday that I acquired the book "RS-232 Made Easy"
and I had the whole universe in my hands....I wonder what the next ten years
will reveal.

Hello Gehan,

For a DTC connection, you must use the serial port (DB25) and the printer
uses pins 2, 3, and 7. No other pins are used, and if the other pins
exist, they will be ignored (so you may use a 25-pin cable with all pins
present). If the DTC has a DB25, then it will use 2, 3, and 7. For a RJ-
45, it will use pins 1, 3, and 6, and you would need to use an adapter to
connect the DTC's pin 1 to the printer's pin 2, and DTC pin 3 to printer
pin 3, and DTC pin 6 to printer pin 7.

hope that helps.
eric
