Brent

Be Careful the HP3000 caches certain IP address.

Try this:

RUN NETTOOL.NET.SYS

NAMEADDR
MAPPING
MAPPING

Now you will see a list of cached IP address. Use the DELMAPPING
command to delete the old server IP address.

Do not be afraid to delete anything the HP will find them again.

Good Luck
Kent Wallace

Subject: [HP3000-L] nettool question

We just changed to an MPLS line for Internet and branch office
communications and were force to change our Gateway IP. I made the
change
on the 3000 for LAN1 Internet and brought the system down and back up. I

went into NETTOOL and did a gateway list which shows 13 as the new
default
and 60 and 27 as active. These addition IP's are connections to
suppliers an
are closed links. I did a ROUTING list and the addresses attached to the
60
and 27 gateways were all that were listed. I thought all was good.

Not so, couple of hours later I go back into NETTOOL list the gateways
and
the old Gateway shows (44). So I go to ROUTING and 4 IP blocks show up
pointing to the old gateway 44. These blocks (64.0.0.0, 74.0.0.0,
206.45.95.0
and 192.168.45.0) have no reference in our network.

My question(s), how do they get into the table, are they or could they
be a
threat and how can I remove them or block more.
